Dreambert and Bedsmith, two creatures of the Pi’illo species, wake up one morning, not remembering who they are, where they are, or how they appeared. They find themselves in a strange house in an unfamiliar city, feeling lost and confused. As the panic begins, a strange man named Wonka appears, claiming to be their father. He assumes that they must have passed out watching TV last night, but before he can explain more, the situation gets even weirder. A creature named Starlow, from the Star Sprite species, arrives, insisting that she is their friend. She says they had plans to hang out, but Dreambert and Bedsmith don’t remember her or any plans. Reluctantly, they follow Starlow outside, unsure of their surroundings. They wander around the city, acting as if they don’t recognize either their surroundings or Starlow. Despite her confusion, Starlow continues to communicate with them as if they have been friends for a long time. While she shows them around, Starlow patiently explains their supposed friendship and their names, trying to reassure them. Drimbert and Bedsmith, however, remain disoriented and unable to understand their past or their connection to Starlow. As the day goes on, Starlow becomes increasingly concerned, at first thinking that they are just pretending to forget. But since their strange behavior persists, she begins to worry that something is seriously wrong with their memories. By the end of the day, Starlow’s uncertainty grows, and she wonders if there is something else behind their forgetfulness. Dreambert and Bedsmith go back to the house where they first woke up, and Wonky, still claiming to be their father, gives them a bed that looks unfamiliar. Too awake and confused to protest, they lay down for the night. When they fall asleep, their minds are filled with questions about their personalities, their past, and the reason for their sudden amnesia. The mystery of their lost memories looms unanswered as they drift into a restless sleep, not knowing what the future holds.
